Letchworth State Park is known as the "Grand Canyon Of The East." This park features many things from a large dam at the beginning of the park to three different waterfalls and a wide variety of different level hiking trails. There is a Letchworth historic building with artifacts and memorabilia dating back to the start of the park. Not far from there is a site dedicated to an Indian captive Mary Jemison. They have a statue of her as well as two building (Not in their original council grounds) that she used to stay at in the mid to late 1700's. Letchworth offers more than 66 miles of hiking trails with a wide variety of activities from horseback riding, white water rafting, hot air balloon rides, biking & cross-country skiing. *There is NOT a gas station in the park so make sure your tank is at least 1/2 full before entering!! *There is also a fee charged for entering the park. I believe it is $7.00, so make sure to have some $ on you as well.
